The Big Bang Theory Aired its Final Episode Last Night and We are Crying!

Last Night. Last Episode. Great Ending.—and it was a wrap for the hit CBS sitcom, The Big Bang Theory!

After a successful run of 12 seasons, the comedy series came to a close on Thursday night. The series ran for 279 episodes and gave its fans a bitter sweet through its final episode titled ‘The Stockholm Syndrome.’

As per the sources, last scene of the final episode was already taped before filming of the rest of the episode. Steve Holland, the main show runner explained, “It seemed like a nice thing for us to hold back one piece of the finale, so there’s at least one thing that couldn’t be spoiled.” Apparently, this little piece was kept hidden even from the studio audience.

Nonetheless, it was an emotional episode with fans flooding Twitter with their emotional reactions. One fan tweeted, “As far as series finales go, that was pretty good. Wrapped everything up nicely and didn’t kill anyone off!  Another tweet read, “#BigBangTheory had the perfect ending- tears, laughs and a great ending!”

Even the cast of the show couldn’t stop themselves from expressing their feelings about the finale. Jim Parsons, who portrayed Sheldon Cooper in the show, posted a picture with the cast with an emotional caption that read, “It was really hard to pick the right pic for this post, so here is a shot of us in a hug after we filmed the last group scene we would ever film for the series... and TONIGHT is THE NIGHT….I hope you get a chance to tune in and I hope you enjoy all of it. If you enjoy it even half as much as we’ve enjoyed (LOVED) creating this show for the past 12 years, then that’ll be a WHOLE WHOLE lot of enjoyment. All of us will miss seeing you in this format, but we will be around in all sorts of ways, I assure you... love love love.”

Kaley Cuoco who played Penny on the show, uploaded various pictures with her co-stars, and one of the captions read, “Our final show. Our final huddle. Our final curtain call. It doesn’t get more BTS than this!”

The series also starred Johnny Galecki Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik. The cast expressed their gratitude for being a part of TV’s longest-running multi-cam sitcom.

Even though the show has ended, there are already speculations about the possible spin-offs that might take place in future. While Young Sheldon has already tasted success in its first season, we’d love to see Penny, Leonard, Raj and Howard have their own individual shows!
