Waiting, and Reading Homer in the meantime
Waiting, and Reading Homer in the meantime
Thoughts were flowing under the glorious stars,
Obscurity was everywhere to crush the dreams of the sky
I wished for a soothsayer to come with bare foot
To surprise me while I was reading Odyssey
To compel me move forward in the War of Troy
To make me understand the supernatural influences of the Trojan heroes,
I wished to have a gift of prophecy
To calm my inklings and desperation for a while
To foresee the end of a historical era.
Waiting, and reading Homer in the meantime
Was it planned, to induce the reflections of time,
While being in the story
I was waiting to see the sunshine after
the obscurity which was lying on my bed
As a soft satin bed sheet, forcing me
To drape it with a heavy heart,
I was waiting to see the words with bold letters
Coming my way as a fresh bouquet of lavenders
To be taken as an oath of writing,
I was waiting while Odyssey was fighting
For his lost identity, to receive acceptance
In the field of pen and paper.
Thoughts were flowing under the glorious stars,
Obscurity was everywhere to crush the dreams of the sky
I wished for a soothsayer to come with bare foot
To surprise me while I was reading Odyssey,
To revisit the era of power and destruction
To indulge in some beautiful reflections of yesterday,
As the past is the builder of the present,
Reading Homer sets a true exemplar
Of crafting a piece of writing in the awe of the story.
