Currently on location in London but flying in to sign Hollywood film contracts shortly

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.: Maria Pazouros is an exceptionally talented actress. She's often referred to in the press as a "brilliant British actress." We asked her about that. With a big smile on her face and in a somewhat hushed tone, she said, "Actually I'm a brilliant Cypriot/Zambian actress." Her sense of humor along with her wit and her giving personality are extraordinary and often causes people meeting her for the first time to perceive her as a long-time friend.

Maria has already been signed to star or co-star in over half a dozen film and television projects scheduled to shoot between late 2019 and mid-2023. And, she's about to sign for two additional feature films. "I like to keep busy," she told us. That heart-winning smile made us wonder so we asked for specifics.

"I'm working on a project in London now. I have ten days that I'm not shooting. I'm taking advantage of the opportunity to fly into Los Angeles for some face-to-face producer meetings."

We assumed this would include the contract signings for the two additional feature films and that maybe the producers wanted to interview Maria in person before signing her. Maria, again with that twinkle in her eye, said, "I will be meeting two producers for the first time." She hesitated for a moment, her smile broadening. "I think it's more likely that I'll be interviewing them." Her answer caused us to smile. It appears that Maria is also an astute businessperson.

"You mean," we asked, "that if you don't like one of the producers, you'll turn down the film?" We assumed she would correct us and were very surprised with her answer. "Yes," Maria answered. "If there's a serious enough conflict, I'd have no trouble at all turning down the role." The puzzled look on our faces evoked clarification. "When I work on a project, it becomes a passion and I give 100% plus. My job is to bring that project to life on the screen, to make it the very best that it can possibly be. I won't do 99%; that's not fair to anyone." Her smile turned into a grin. "Thankfully I haven't run into that 'bad producer' scenario yet – I get along with just about everybody."
