The Indian Navy has launched the guided missile destroyer INS Imphal, its latest warship, at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders. This is the third ship under Project 15-B, and was launched in Mumbai on Saturday, April 20. The Indian Navy has named, for the first time, a warship, after a city from the Northeast. It has been named after the Battle of Imphal and Kohima that were fought 75 years ago.

Imphal has a length of 163 meters and 17.4 meters at the shaft and a removal of 7.300 tons, which are moved by four gas turbines to accomplish speeds more than 30 ties.
