Puducherry reports 8 new COVID-19 cases
Puducherry: The Union Territory of Puducherry registered eight new COVID-19 cases taking the overall tally in the state to 1,65,929, a senior government official said.
In a release, Director of Health G Sriramulu said the health department had examined 834 samples during the last 24 hours and found eight new cases of the viral infection.
There were 35 active cases in the UT while six patients recovered on the day. With this, the total recoveries were 1,63,932.
The Director said there was no fatality in the last 24 hours and the death toll remained unchanged at 1,962.
The test positivity rate was 0.89 per cent while the fatality and recovery rates were 1.18 per cent and 98.80 per cent respectively.
The Department has examined 22,63,090 samples so far and has found 19,08,079 samples out of them to be negative.
Sriramulu added that the health department has administered 17,17,582 doses that comprised 9,68,234 first doses, 7,23,804 second doses and 25,544 booster doses.
