Review: Breathe: Into the Shadow - the latest Amazon Prime show is a psychological crime thriller, created and directed by Mayank Sharma and produced by Abundantia Entertainment. It marks the digital debut of Abhishek Bachchan along with South star Nithya Menen.

The 12-episode series highlights a very popular saying about three faces - The first face that you show to the world, the second face that you show to your close friends and your family and the third face that you never show anyone. So in a way the web series echoes the good, bad and evil within human nature - on different people under different circumstances and is bang on target.

The director, Mayank Sharma has done an adept job of keeping things engaging throughout though there are too many scenes that lag and add little value to the eventual impact of an episode.

When it comes to performances, Abhishek Bachchan is really good. He is shown mostly composed and subdued throughout, as his character should be. Even Nithya Menen adds tremendous emotional value. While Ivana Kaur as Siya Sabharwal is cuteness redefined.

Also, Amit Sadh, Saiyami Kher, Hrishikesh Joshi, Shrikant Verma, Plabita Borthakur, Resham Shrivardhan, Shradha Kaul make their presence felt as they get into their character’s skin with ease.

As far as the technical aspect is concerned, the screenplay keeps you relatively engaged. S. Bharathwaaj's cinematography is exceptional. He captures the right amount of dark tones and adds just the perfect gloomy tinge to the overall milieu.

Music by Alokananda Dasgupta and Karan Kulkarni’s again does the required trick and it stays with you till the episodes end and the end-credits roll.

Overall, ‘Breathe: Into the Shadows’ brings along some genuinely suspenseful moments that hold it together to make for a decently engaging watch and will haunt and stay with you long after the credits roll.
