Stillness by Kent J Burkhardsmeier

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla.: Award-winning photographer, Kent J Burkhardsmeier discovered comfort during the pandemic while mediating on his outdoor nature images. The more time he spent with the prints, the more they whispered tranquility to his soul.

Orialivi Publishing announces the September 2020 book launch of Stillness: Whispers From Nature. Stillness intertwines outdoor landscape images and original poems by photographic artist / author, Kent Burkhardsmeier. The poems reveal the author's journey seeking peace in nature—through nature's universal voice of presence, centering, and hope. The images offer space for the heart and mind to wander—carefree.

Melinda Gates, author of New York Times bestseller A Moment of Lift, says in the foreword: "I find Stillness…so elevating it captures the power of nature to quiet the mind."

In the preface, the author shares insights on how landscape images transported him "back to the outdoors" while struggling with anxiety and home quarantined during the 2020 pandemic. The poems presented themselves as nature's "words whispered to [his] heart."

"The yin and yang of Kent's poems and images are a refuge and light during these otherwise tempestuous times—offering solace with nature," says gallery director David Borlaug.

Kent Burkhardsmeier grew up in North Dakota and currently lives in Florida. After a successful business career, he returned to his passion of photography—honing his artistic talents as a landscape photographer. His images have been recognized and exhibited internationally with work featured in three publications by LensWork Publishing. Stillness is the first book in the artist's Whispers from Nature collection. Currently, he is working on the second book in the collection—publication planned for the end of 2020.
